Abstract Painting with Found Objects and Tin Types: Mixed Media Painting (10x10)

For this piece, I have used a collection of found objects from my collection of odd finds. Starting with an abstract landscape, the colorful scene is covered with a lacy bark paper. Over the paper you'll spot rusted hardware, a ceramic drawer pull, and two antique tin types of dapper young folks posing for an early camera.

Medium: oil and cold wax on birch panel with mixed media as described above

Size: 10" x 10" x 1.5"

Details: The piece is framed in natural wood with a front facing of .375”. The frame is 1.25” deep and fitted with wire. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream.
