Growing up near Lake Michigan, I learned to love all the seasons, and for reasons I’m not sure I can articulate, fall was and still is my favorite. In this painting, I have created a snapshot of fall—its lush colors, its earthy smells, the quietness of the weather before the volume that winter will surely bring. You can see it in the color of the sky and the reflection in the water. It’s earth making room for new growth. Maybe that’s why I love it so much—it’s all part of a hopeful cycle.
Size: 8" x 8" with a 12" mat
Medium: Cold wax and oil on archival paper
Details: The painting arrives with a mat and backboard in a vinyl sleeve. Unframed, it is signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
