There is something about a tabby cat—they are a gift from the universe. This sassy one knows his worth, and he greets you with his whole self—"Am I glad to see you!" is what he says with his purring.* To bring him to life, I began with hand-painted papers, which I layered with scraps of ephemera—old book pages, bits of magazines. The collage wraps around the edges of the paintings for a finished look.
Size: 6" x 12" x .75"
Medium: Mixed media on wood
Details: Matte finish. Fitted with a sawtooth hanger, the piece is signed and dated.
*NOTE: The phrase "Am I glad to see you!" was cut from an issue of LIFE magazine February 4, 1946.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
