Collage Painting of Owl: Mixed Media Art with Owl (6x12)

This wise owl knows things, has seen things, and he sits on his perch quietly pondering life's mysteries. To bring him to life, I began with hand-painted papers, which I layered with scraps of ephemera—old book pages, bits of magazines. He offers a bit of wisdom with the phrase, "Live in Technicolor," which appears in the upper left hand corner of the scene. The collage wraps around the edges of the paintings for a finished look.

Details: Matte finish. Fitted with a sawtooth hanger, the piece is signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream.
