Bright orange trees, catching the sunlight at the golden hour, have deep roots in the soil in this abstract landscape. Their roots intertwine, nourishing each other with all of their resources. A shimmer of water after the rain settles into the soil, a refreshment they share. Along the roots of the youngest tree, I have etched a quote from the German poet and philosopher Goethe, which reads:
"Once more I am a wanderer, a pilgrim, through the world. But what else are you?"
Size: 24" x 24" x 2.5"
Medium: Cold wax and oil on birch panel
Details: Intentionally unframed, the sides are finished with an off-white matte wash with weathered feel, and the panel is fitted with wire for hanging. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
