This original painting, I have imagined a rough landscape with rocks, frothy shore lines, a hint of outdoor adventure. It's the kind of day that smooths out the edges and encourages you to appreciate every detail. In the bottom left-hand corner, I have etched a quote from Walt Whitman's "Song of the Open Road", which reads:
“Now I see the secret of making the best person: it is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth.”
Size: 24" x 36" x 2.5"
Medium: Cold wax and oil on birch panel
Details: Intentionally unframed, the sides are finished with an off-white matte wash with weathered feel, and the panel is fitted with wire for hanging. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
