In this abstract painting done in cold wax and oil on wood, I have planted a row of long leaf pine trees beside a glimmering lake, with white-sand dunes hinting at what lies behind the horizon. That would be more sand and the Gulf. If you're familiar with the stretch of road in the Florida Panhandle known as 30A, you might recognize this scene as a snippet of Western Lake. If you aren't, no matter—the effect nature has on our souls is universal.
Size: 14" x 11"
Medium: Cold wax and oil on wood panel
Details: Framed in natural wood with a 1/4" face all around and 1.50" depth. It is fitted with wire for hanging, signed, and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
