Framed Earth-tone Collage Painting: Mixed Media Art (8x8)

This collaged landscape is created with layers of hand-painted paper, ink, paint, and vintage text. It's warm, fall colors are earthy and inviting.

Note: I found the text in a 19th-century log book that recorded business transactions in the town where I raised my children. To preserve the book itself, I scanned in the text and printed it on paper, stained the paper with coffee, and voila.

Medium: mixed media on wood panel

Details: The piece is framed in natural wood with a front facing of .375”. The frame is 1.25” deep and fitted with wire. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—painting is a daily exercise for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. As an assemblage artist, exploring this medium opens up a different portal, so to speak. Different textures, colors, shapes, and even sounds, emerge with each new piece. My goal is to create work that represents how I see the world around me, and at the same time, work that others can bring into their own surroundings and attach to it their own interpretation.
