This found-object assemblage has a sea theme, with a collection of found objects to suit. Within the top compartment is a vintage bell hanging freely from a wire, and it is backed by an original oil painting of the sea and a filigree that serves as both wave and sign of plenty. In the bottom compartment is an antique photo of a sailing ship at sea, along with bits of driftwood. Along the left side of the assemblage is suspended an antique tin type of a woman, our heroine who surely recites the poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins when she thinks of her future.
Excerpts from the poem, "Heaven-Haven," read:
I have desired to go where no storms come, and out of the swing of the sea—
To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail.
The assemblage measures 4" x 10" and is 3" deep. It is designed to be displayed on a bookshelf or table with your other treasures, or display on a wall (fitted with wire for hanging).

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
