Abstract Painting of Rosy Landscape, Original Abstract Landscape Painting, Painting with Gerard. Manley Hopkins Poetry

In this original abstract painting, a rosy landscape takes shape with pinks and reds surrounding turquoise pools. In one of the pools, an excerpt of Gerard Manley Hopkins’ poem “Heaven-Haven” is inscribed:

The poem describes a haven where he has desired to be. The excerpt reads:

Where no storms come,
Where the green swell is in the havens dumb,
And out of the swing of the sea.

Medium: oil and cold wax on archival paper

Size: 20” x 16”

Details: The painting is signed and dated on the back and ready to frame. It arrives with a backboard in a vinyl sleeve.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
