This original abstract painting calls to mind the autumn landscapes of my childhood, growing up in Northwest Indiana where fields were harvested of corn, and leaves fell like paper airplanes. We would pile them in mounds and create entire worlds among them, although sometimes it was enough just to walk along a path strewn with them. You can almost smell the autumn scents in this scene.

Medium: Cold wax and oil on wood panel
Details: The painting is framed in natural wood with a front face measuring .375". The frame is 1.25" deep and fitted with wire for hanging.. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—painting is a daily exercise for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. As an assemblage artist, exploring this medium opens up a different portal, so to speak. Different textures, colors, shapes, and even sounds, emerge with each new piece. My goal is to create work that represents how I see the world around me, and at the same time, work that others can bring into their own surroundings and attach to it their own interpretation.
