This abstract seascape painting is made complete with an excerpt from an Emily Dickinson poem inscribed in the painting's surface. Beneath a sunny but cloud-dotted sky is a vibrant ocean reflecting shades of blue and green. And within the water's surface are lines from Dickinson's poem "I Started Early." The lines read as follows:
I felt His Silver Heel
Upon my Ankle – Then My Shoes
Would overflow with Pearl
It is the ocean that pursues her as she stands ankle deep, and she allows her shoes to fill with bubbly water, creating pearls to an imaginative mind.
Dimensions: 11" x 14"
Medium: Cold wax and oil on wood panel
Details: The painting is framed in solid maple with a slim facing profile and a depth of 1.25". Fitted with wire for hanging. Signed and dated.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—painting is a daily exercise for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. As an assemblage artist, exploring this medium opens up a different portal, so to speak. Different textures, colors, shapes, and even sounds, emerge with each new piece. My goal is to create work that represents how I see the world around me, and at the same time, work that others can bring into their own surroundings and attach to it their own interpretation.
